BRACES ADJUSTMENT AND AFTERCARE

Braces adjustment recalls are always emphasized by the dentist and maintained by the clinic reception as without regular adjustments, it become impossible for desired teeth movement. It is a responsibility of a patient to not to miss their adjustment visits every month. It is recommended to visit your dentist after every 4 weeks as the braces components become ineffective after 4 weeks.

FAQs

While every patient is different, you should generally have your braces adjusted or tightened every 4-10 weeks.

During your adjustment appointment, your dentist tighten the appliance, including the wire and springs, and replace the old elastic rubber bands for new ones. This tightening can cause some pain, similar to the pain experienced when the braces are first put on. This pain should fade within 1-3 days after your orthodontic appointment. After the first six months of having your braces fitted, soreness and discomfort tends to reduce after each appointment.
